Call it a Comeback: At the Center Set for New Wave

A key publication for pregnancy help organizations is on its way back, thanks to Life Matters Worldwide.

At the Center Magazine, which began as a paper publication in 2001 and moved exclusively online several years later, published its most recent issue in 2013.

Today, ATC is ready for its comeback.

Michele Shoun of Life Matters Worldwide in Grand Rapids, Mich., will captain the project, and looks forward to bringing back one of the most encouraging publications of the pregnancy help community.

“It’s going to be an adventure,” Shoun said. “We’re going to have a new look and a web page redesign.”

The new magazine will continue its mission, reaching all facets of the pregnancy help community.

“We are going to speak to all of the people at the center,” Shoun said. “The directors, board members, volunteers; everyone. We will have articles on counseling, marketing, fundraising and spiritual encouragement specific to pregnancy centers.”

Already, Life Matters is emailing former subscribers, letting them know of the return of ATC. “We’ve gotten a lot of comments from those who used to receive the magazine,” Shoun pointed out. “They are excited to have it back.”

Each month, subscribers (there is no charge for a subscription) will receive key articles and links from all facets of the pregnancy help community. Several times a year, Life Matters and ATC will release a complete, online issue.

For Life Matters president Tom Lothamer, having ATC back means another opportunity to unite members of the pregnancy help community. “We want to bring other ministries with us,” Lothamer explained. “This is yet another resource for pregnancy help centers; anyone will be able to search our archives for articles on any subject pertaining to our work.”

Plenty of work is going into the task of readying ATC for the new rollout. “We will be updating articles already online,” Shoun said. “We want to highlight those already published, and bring in new articles that are timely for pregnancy help centers.”

The bottom line? Building the pregnancy help community as it grows. “There are always going to be new people who need to be refreshed,” Shoun said.

Lothamer can’t wait to get started. “This is going to be yet another resource for pregnancy help centers,” he said. “Month by month, we want ATC to be an encouragement for all who are involved in this ministry.”

Subscriptions are growing daily for ATC as preparation continues. To subscribe, a link is provided at the ATC site.
