Follow the science - not the pro-abortion yellow brick road of nonsense

So often we are told to follow the science. However, it is not uncommon anymore for the highest authorities in our land to follow the yellow brick road of nonsense.

Some recent wicked absurdity in South Carolina demonstrated through denial of the existence of the fetal heartbeat - the latest in political posturing attempting to deny the humanity of the unborn – had a house of truth dropped on it by a pro-life medical professional.

Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams infamously made the claim of non-existence of the fetal heartbeat, and South Carolina Chief Justice Donald Beatty deemed it to be truth as well.

That flickering image on an ultrasound scan that is visible from the center of a six-week-old fetus is not a heartbeat, they said with certainty in their tone. It’s simply an “electrical signal.”

Beatty’s colleague, Associate Justice Kaye Hearn, agreed. She said the four chambers are not fully developed, so it is not technically a heart yet.

Writers of medical textbooks must be scratching their heads.

Are these fetuses like the Tinman from the Land of Oz?

A blip on the ultrasound monitor is not exactly an empty echo of a hollow tin can. It is clearly seen and heard.

Dr. Tara Sander Lee, PhD., took to Twitter to dispel these deceptive comments.

Sander Lee has a degree from Harvard Medical School and studied heart development. She is also director of Life Sciences at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, the research arm of national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America.

Not only did the doctor provide proof of the heart’s ability to beat as early as six weeks gestation, she also provided video.

In fact, she stated, the average heartbeat at this stage is 110 BPM.

Sander Lee challenged the justices in their line of logic to consider whether any child, teen, or anyone under the age of 25 actually has a brain since science declares it is not fully developed until age 25.

If we’re going to be so specific about “fully developed” organs, why not assume we are all scarecrows until we are a quarter-century old?

Do we deserve to breathe if our brains have not reached their full potential?

We already see arguments to abort life because of malformations and extra chromosomes. We have developed the reasoning that one must be fully, perfectly intact to be worthy of life. A heartbeat proves life exists. But not so fast, they say. It only proves life when it reaches full development.

Sander Lee posted screenshot textbook statements about the existence of cardiac activity very early in pregnancy.

So, who are people going to believe? Someone with a law degree or someone who has studied science?

Over the past two years we as Americans have been told repeatedly to “trust the science.”

Perhaps that directive is not fully developed. It should perhaps become, “Trust the science if it fits the agenda you are trying to exploit.”

The overturning of Roe v. Wade this past summer should have been more exciting for our nation. Science had finally won. It was like Dorothy tapping her shoes together and making her dream come true.

Not really.

We are faced with scrutiny and hostility toward pro-lifers more than ever, including attacks against pregnancy centers. And our political leaders are trying to find a way around their loss by any means possible, including attempting to change science (Seemingly like the Wicked Witch of the West’s minions swooping en masse from a dark sky.)

We should not be surprised at the lengths the Left will go to defend their agenda and keep people angry. Just as the Wizard of Oz was not as big and powerful as he’d like everyone to assume, neither are these attempts.

Sander Lee said it best:

“Pro-abortion media, justices, Gubernatorial candidates, and others can deny the science all they want that a baby has a heartbeat at six weeks. But they can’t change the scientific facts. It’s simply the miracle of life.”

Tweet This: Abortion supporters can deny the science that a baby has a heartbeat at 6 weeks all they want. But they can’t change the scientific facts.

Thank God for the intellectual honesty and courage of medical professionals like Sander Lee who provide the voice of truth amid the current wild unreality of pro-abortion claims.
