Over two decades ago, as a volunteer consultant at Pregnancy Decision Health Center’s (PDHC) Ohio State University (OSU) campus location, I met with a female student who was well acquainted with campus life.
She was part of a sorority and through our multiple conversations I was brought up to speed on the culture of social life on campus. Since her pregnancy test was negative, we discussed abstinence.
Not only were my words novel to her, but she was excited about the empowerment offered to her where she could take back control of her life and relationships.
Having committed to abstinence, she and I began bi-monthly Bible study times to continue the discussion and enable her to be supported in her decision.

It would be God’s provision to her that we had established our friendship because what she endured next required much needed support. She was the victim of rape, having been drugged at a fraternity party she attended with her sorority sisters.
As her confidant, I learned how devastating the widely sexualized atmosphere of the campus was, leaving this young woman behind in its wake. She recalled seeing a room full of men begin to look at her as she lost consciousness - the last she recalled before waking the next morning.
Where were her sorority sisters, who were supposed to follow a code of leaving no one behind in such situations?
They did indeed leave her behind, and the next morning when she returned to the house they were laughing, saying, “Oh, look who hooked up last night?!”
This campus culture has persisted through the last two decades to today, and if anything, the atmosphere has become school sanctioned, as OSU’s “Sex Week” is taking place this week.
OSU student group Student Advocates for Sexual Health Awareness hosts "Sex Week," and according to Fox News, several Ohio State University departments are sponsoring the event. It's one of several Sex Week observances hosted by U.S. universities.

We missed a lot in high school—socially, biologically, and scientifically. That is why Ohio State is creating a judgment-free, inclusive, relatable space for our community to explore the sides of sexual health that they never really learned.
Students are encouraged to not just celebrate sexuality in all its forms - although there is no mention of the form within the bonds of marriage - but also to “thank abortion providers.” Apparently without the services of abortion providers the debauchery would not be the same.
The website claims to provide much-needed “sex education” to students, yet activities clearly are focused on celebrating the use of sex as a tool of pleasure, and they claim to help you with dealing with any unwanted consequences—hence the need to thank the local abortionists.
According to the event website, Sex Week funding is funded through students’ activities fee. Other sponsors of the event supply additional funds.
“College students are qualified to educate their peers, advocate for their health, and facilitate healthy discussions,” it states.
It also explains that Planned Parenthood is included in the event and “pregnancy crisis centers” are not. It reads like a pro-abortion manual.
Students were also to gather to give, “Valentines for Abortion Providers” as a thanks to the abortion providers, an opportunity for some to meet the Student Advocates for Sexual Health Awareness (SASHA), the peers who are there to “educate” students about sex.
One might be able to guess what the “Sexual Health Awareness” teachings and discussions are likely to produce.
Recently I reconnected with my PDHC client from all those years ago. She has been married for the past two decades to the same man and is doing well.
She had sent me a “thank you” note about around a year into their marriage. That note was to let me know she was thankful and that indeed there is blessing when you do things “God’s way.” She has two sons now who are a continuation of that blessing.
When comparing what this woman is thankful for to what a current OSU student would be thanking an abortionist for—which of the two is life-giving?
