(National Right to Life News) Still another tragic case of a man “covertly administering” an abortion pill “to the mother without her knowledge and consent with the specific intent to cause the death of the unborn child.” The baby, named Presley Mae by her mother, was stillborn at the hospital earlier this month.
25-year-old Jon Rueben Gabriel Demeter was arrested by the Montgomery County (Texas) Sheriff’s Office and “is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury, family violence, and is being held without bond.” Corley Peel, and Ricky Munoz, reported. “Authorities say additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.”
The narrative is all-too-familiar.
When the unidentified woman found she was pregnant, Demeter attempted to convince her to undergo an abortion on multiple occasions. She adamantly refused.
Intending to end her baby’s life, Demeter obtained mifepristone and covertly administered it without her consent.

On Saturday, deputies were called to a hospital in The Woodlands for what officials described as a miscarriage under “suspicious circumstances.” The woman reported that the father of her baby secretly drugged her to end the pregnancy. By Monday, Demeter was formally charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Demeter was scheduled to have a bond review hearing this morning.
Trauma therapist Chau Nguyen “said this case highlights what’s known as reproductive coercion which is a pattern of behavior that can include pressuring, controlling or manipulating someone’s reproductive choices,” according to Peel and Munoz.
“This act of abuse is a form of domestic violence,” Nguyen said. “He took her decision to have a child against her will and he took it away from her.”
The Sheriff’s office was especially kind and understanding.
“The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office commends the tireless dedication of our detectives, crime scene investigators, prosecutors, and patrol personnel who worked on this difficult and sensitive case,” said Sheriff Wesley Doolittle. “Our thoughts and prayers remain with the mother and her family as they mourn the loss of Presley Mae.”
