With hope for the future, Romania, Republic of Moldova march for life

March for Life Romania

(March for Life Romania) March for Life 2024 took place on Saturday 30 March 2024 in Bucharest. Together with the marches in the other localities on this and other days, it crowned the Month for Life 2024, during which pro-life activities took place in over 1500 localities in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

With this year's theme, "We build bridges together for LIFE", we aimed to send a strong invitation to work together in support of pregnant women. Only together we can make a solid impact in society. And sustainable building is based on changing hearts and truly meeting all the needs of pregnant women. This is why, through our activities, we have advocated for increased responsibility for the life of each child, even before birth, and for the importance of supporting the mother who carries it in her womb.

It is vital - but also possible, through the effort of everyone who cares about the direction in which he or she is going as a human being and the direction in which the society in which he or she lives is going - to bring together stakeholders who, through shared vision and collaboration, can build a better future for future generations.

March for Life Romania

In Bucharest and across the country, Month for Life 2024 included support actions for mothers and children, storytelling and pro-life sign-making workshops, Women's Day flower-giving actions, conferences, workshops, pro-life youth debates, the first Live for Life Quiz, the Annunciation Gala, cross country and other sports events, concerts, fundraising for women in crisis pregnancies, etc.

Thanks to Ana Nuță, the Tronos Junior Choir and the other performers for their recital at the "Live for Life" concert, Vlad Plăcintă, Silvan Covaci, Monica Lia, Manuela Cernat, who spoke at the March for Life in Bucharest, Ioana Revnic, Veronica Iani and the animators working with children. Through them, but also through the atmosphere of the whole event, the more than 3,000 participants had an unforgettable experience that will be a source of strength to do good in the future.

More than 1,500 locations in Romania and Moldova, thousands of pro-life activities and more than 200,000 participants are concrete steps towards a pro-life future - which is needed to have a future! Otherwise, indifference and lack of support, lack of knowledge and lack of education will make a mockery of the lives of both children and women, squandering the huge potential they both have.

We recall that the theme of this year's edition was inspired by the situation that led to the death of Alexandra Ivanov, a 25-year-old mother who was denied medical care following a miscarriage. Alexandra Ivanov was among the organizers of the March for Life in her city and supported young women in pregnancy crisis since she was in high school. She was her community's heart of good deeds. This edition is dedicated to her and the unborn child she lost.

We look with hope to the future, we look with hope to all the young people who made up a significant proportion of the participants in the Month for Life 2024 and March for Life 2024 activities. They, together, will build a more welcoming future for women and children!

We invite you and look forward to seeing you at March for Life 2025 on Saturday 29 March 2025!

Postscript:

In Romania, March for Life reached this year the 14th national edition and in the Republic of Moldova the 10th national edition.

Our message is addressed to society as a whole, which is why our approach is apolitical and non-denominational and does not support any form of ostracism of women.

We know that only by working together and collaborating we can have a solid impact on society. We believe in changing hearts and truly fulfilling all the needs of pregnant women; we are not calling for a legal ban on abortion.

We are witnessing a lack of comprehensive information and education for young people. That is why we focus our efforts on educating the younger generation, to prepare them to make informed decisions.

We strongly believe that education and correct information are the most powerful weapons in the fight to build a civilized society that respects human rights.

Thank you to all participants, supporters and civil society with whose help we are building together for LIFE!
