My social media blew up last night. How about yours?
Politico published details from a leaked early draft written by Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito on the much-anticipated Dobbs ruling. This February document indicates that SCOTUS has voted to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Our own Pregnancy Help News published within just a few hours on the matter.
The draft, if a representation of what will be made official, is a repudiation of Roe’s legal underpinnings that speaks powerfully to the reasons this should never have been a Constitutional “right” but a matter for the States to decide. And decide they will. Many already have “trigger” laws that will go into effect immediately to protect women and babies.
However, the ruling is not official, so celebrating must wait.

The leak of the draft is unprecedented in modern SCOTUS history.
The leak seems far from just a jump on the news cycle, but an intentional ploy to galvanize abortion support.
In just the few hours after the news came out there were already suggestions of new federal law that would codify Roe.
Even more radical maneuvers have been proposed, such as court-packing or the “nuclear option” of eliminating the Senate’s centuries old filibuster.
These are of grave concern in this already charged political environment.
We simply don’t know what happens next. Or how the opposition will move to thwart this.
But we know The One who does.
As we have eagerly prayed and believed for a vote of this kind for decades, we must now dedicate ourselves to pray it through to become the law of the United States.
We must pray for all who’ve made this courageous decision to stand firm amidst threats and vitriol. We must pray for protection for these individuals and for our country.
We must pray.
And we must work.
While a segment of the pro-life effort has been focused on SCOTUS regarding Roe, our work has always been about her - that mom who needs alternatives to abortion to make a life-saving decision.
